Marti Baird
A 20+ year resident of New Kent County, I have one son who is a New Kent High School graduate and one who is currently navigating his way through Middle School.
My first experience with our county’s fire dept was a structure fire in December of 2002 when the first home we were building in New Kent burned to the ground.
I’ve never forgotten the professionalism and kindness towards us of the first responders who were on the scene during a bitter cold and icy day to put the fire out.
As a former cub scout leader, I’ve worked with our amazing sheriff dept and fire dept to provide educational experiences for the young people in the community. It is an honor and a privilege to be able to work alongside both depts for the greater good of the youngsters.
As a veteran’s daughter and with many veterans and active military in my family, I am always humbled by the sacrifices they have made and continue to make for our freedom and liberties.
I am grateful for the service our first responders provide to our community and the veterans for their continued service in whatever capacity they are able.
It is an honor and a privilege to volunteer alongside amazing and talented people in the NKPSF to serve those who serve us.
